About "To Die in the Arms of Krishna"

I was painting a lot of figures in landscapes at the time and this one is a particularly idiosyncratic one. The work was stored and forgotten in a Cape Town gallery for years before being returned to me. It was like seeing a child after ten years of absence!
The style is quite primitive compared to the work I do now but I like the raw enthusiasm of the figures and their inter-dynamics. It is titled after a poem I wrote at the time. The poem did not survive!
