About "Where's My Clothes"

Another of my series of local children. Driving through our local township, I noticed this little boy, barely clothed with an clothes hanger in hand, warring probably the remnants of last years Christmas outfit.

About Johan

I was born in East London Eastern Cape South Africa. After almost 30 years in the Banking industry and living in Johannesburg, I decided to leave the corporate world and settled in the small town of Steytlerville, Eastern Cape, South Africa to pursue my second career as an Artist.
The subject matter of my paintings is wide and varied and I approach every piece as an exploratory journey of learning and experimentation. I aspire to create work which has a long term message and want the viewer to experience something new every time they look at a piece. Complacent and repetitive are words I never want to be associated with my work. Every space, person or object is unique in its own setting/ environment and I challenge myself is to interpret that uniqueness and the emotion it invokes. My work is influenced by physical environment and the people who make up this rich community of Steytlerville.
