About Reinet
Reinet was born in Pretoria in 1970.
My work represents vibrancy, colour, love and growth in nature, and it is exactly that that I want to bring into your living space. My new paintings is more about what the viewer see than what I felt when I painted the painting.
My new work require the viewer to spend more time with painting.
Now the imagination starts to work and evoke a feeling.
With my new work I want the viewer to feel peaceful and forget all their troubles.
She went to Pro Arte art school, after which she studied textile design at the Pretoria Technikon. She then did textile printing for 10 years. Three years ago she started doing the living space paintings. Absolute joy![0x1] she says. She uses medium oils and acrylics on canvas.
Living in Africa, one is constantly exposed to various and diverse patterns and textures. The different cultures inherent to Africa also emphasize this point. She paints her subject matter with a sensual yet playful emotion that reminds of a time long gone.
I am inspired by nature and colour and from an early age I was always painting on every available surface, to the despair of my parents.
I devote all my time to painting.
