My name is Bobbie Pickard. I am a 75 years old retired Judge President of the High Court of South Africa now living in Velddrif on the Berg River in the West Coast. Since my retirement I have been painting in oils. The only training I ever had was a few days with Louis Audie and watching my wife Helena Pickard, who is also an artist, paint.
I enjoy my painting greatly and here on the West Coast the atmosphere promotes every bit of artistic talent that may exist. Recently I have also started painting some works under the pseudonym "Picaddo". The choice between the two names (Picaddo or Bobbie Pickard) usually is motivated by the nature and style of each work and sometimes the topic. These days I paint mainly under the name "Picaddo".
