About Christine

My artistic practice is rooted in a deep obsession with African wildlife--an obsession born from the sobering discovery of how commodification, habitat loss, and poaching are pushing these magnificent beings ever closer to the edge of survival. Each artwork I create is both a tribute and a warning, a way of holding space for creatures whose voices are too often silenced by human activity.

I work primarily in monochrome, a deliberate choice that strips away distraction and heightens the drama of my subjects. The stark contrasts of light and shadow mirror the precarious balance in which wildlife now exists. Without the distraction of color, the essence of the animal--its strength, vulnerability, and sheer presence--emerges with greater force. My goal is to move beyond mere representation, to create imagery that is both beautiful and unsettling, reminding viewers of what is at stake.

Through my work, I hope to awaken a sense of urgency, but also reverence. I want collectors and viewers not only to appreciate the elegance of these images, but to carry forward the underlying message: the preservation of wildlife is not optional--it is essential.

As the Cree Prophecy warns:
"When all the trees have been cut down,
When all the animals have been hunted,
When all the waters are polluted,
When all the air is unsafe to breathe,
Only then will you discover that you cannot eat money."

My art is both an elegy and a call to action--a reminder that to protect wildlife is to protect ourselves.
