About Janie

My journey began in the late 80s, in a small town where the world felt endless. Without the hum of technology, my childhood was defined by the silence of vacant landscapes and the freedom of observation. Those years taught me how to truly see.

While my formal training began early, it was under the mentorship of the late Valerie Maggs that I truly found my voice. She pushed me into the deep end of realism, where I discovered a natural affinity for intricate detail--eventually assisting her in teaching students of all ages.

After years spent in the fast-paced world of Graphic Design, I returned to my brushes in 2019. I discovered that my design career hadn't replaced my art; it had refined it. Today, I use my "perfectionist" eye to create immersive, hyper-detailed works that aim for a "wow" factor. My goal is to make you lose yourself in the canvas-to feel the calm, breathe the air, and be breathless for a moment. I invite you to join me as I continue to push the boundaries of what I can create.
