Jeannine Dickie is a South African fine artist, who enjoys telling stories through producing original oil paintings on canvas, and designer ink sketches for prints, textiles and stationery. She loves her country, not only for its wild life and flora, but also for the energy created by the wind, mountains and oceans that surround us, the tranquillity of the bushveld and our colourful cultures.
Where it began....
This journey of soul, heart and art began as a young child. Jeannine studied ballet, music, singing and art throughout her childhood. Whilst at high school, Jeannine dabbled in various media, from pencil sketching and acrylic paints, ink and basic printmaking, wire sculpting and other mixed media.
After 15 successful years in the corporate Recruitment industry, meeting people daily, Jeannine felt the need to feel her soul more. Her inspiration came in 2012, when the tagline in a magazine article caught her attention. It read: "When was the last time you did something for the first time?".
She decided to try that something new, which was oil painting. She took a few lessons ... and three years later, set up a small home studio, and began to trade under the name, Aisling Fine Artworks. In 2017, Aisling Fine Artwork has expanding its product range, to include beautifully printed textiles, home decor items and apparel. Jeannine enjoys painting flowers, animals, land and seascapes, but her true fondness is for portraiture. Of late, she has dabbled in ink and water colours.
My mission and reason for creating art:
"Each time my brush touches the canvas or page, my learning expands, ideas grow and my soul sores. It is my journey, this passion, my dreams, this desire to see light, to look at form and shape, and to appreciate colour, that I'd like to share with you."
