About "Bushfield Fire"
Living in this beautiful surroundings for two years, are given me a big inspiration. For nearly 50 years I used to life in Holland, in a city, having a very responsible job. And now I'm a farmer, farm guesthouse keeper and artist. A tough life starting up an unknown business, but a life close to nature. This beautiful, but also hard nature. Last year the farmers in the valley were threatened time by time by big bushfield fires. And then I'm there to help them. And suddenly this painting grew: the burning sky, the black tree and still the flourishing nature in front - because luckily my farm wasn't hit by the fire.
Being creative is one of the greatest values of my life. Nowadays it is not only to create a nice looking painting or sculpture, but for my art are those 'things' with emotions in it. Every time you pass it, you have to be astonished: my gush, that aspect I haven't seen until now. You have to sense the emotion of the artist. Being an artist in this way is also a struggle, since I like to change my style a lot. But it is also a big challenge.
