About "Ibanez JK 9"
Close-up angled photographic views of the Ibanez Jetking II. Entirely inspired by my friend Zoran's passion for guitars - collecting, playing, fixing, rebuilding. As a reflection of his passion I had to display this close-up minimaly manipulated images in a series of works of art the way I experienced it.
Born in May 1965 in Springs, Gauteng but spent most of my childhood in the savanna countryside of Phalaborwa, Limpopo (previously Transvaal). Living so close to nature in the African bush as a youngster left deep imprints as I still kindle the creative connections to the natural colours, forms and textures that bubbles from inside. Involved in the design and advertising industry for decades certainly influenced the thought process as even when it comes to fine art, I like to have a clear plan of action when starting a work of art.
1999 Waterkloof Pretoria
1983 Matric - Die Kruin, Skool vir Kuns, Musiek en Ballet (NSA)
