About "Kokerboom"

I enjoyed the cool silence of the semi-desert in early morning light. It's rather arid, with no trees, only these giant aloes (Aloe Dichotoma) standing motionless like sentinels over the vast sandy plains of Namibia and Northern Cape.

About Jeanette

Jeanette Horn

I painted and illustrated for the advertising industry until my first solo exhibition in 1990. Subsequently I've spent most of my time working in oils and watercolours for commissions and exhibitions. I have also enjoyed illustrating children's books, the most recent being a children's fairy book written by long-time friend Margaret Roberts.
Portraits are one of my favourite expressions in painting. Being able to capture the personality of the person and transfer it onto canvas is a real challenge and, for me, one of the most rewarding of all the aspects of painting. I do accept commissions for portraits.

US$ 248-866

2 solo exhibitions - 1991 and 1994
2 joint exhibitions with Ulrich Schwanecke - 2000 and 2002
I have been an Associate member of the Watercolour Society of South Africa and regularly exhibited at the Manor Gallery at Norscot when they had exhibitions.
