About "Kukumakranka II"
it is a rare thing to see this pure white flower coming out of the hot sand in mid summer. you might stumble upon it if you you happened to remember where you saw the bunch of spiralled leaves on the sand in winter or if the sweet sent drew yoou towards it. Each bulb has one flower so this clump is comming from an established group of bulbs

About Annelie
I am living on a farm in the Sandveld between Velddrif and Piketberg. I am inspired by my surroundings and the wealth of indigenous wildflowers of the area. The detailed, sensitive (almost impressionistic) paintings stems from a fusion of my scientific background and creative spirit. The images transcend the mere physical appearance of the subject and become visual poetry about Creation.
