About David

My main passion has been the oceans and in particular whales and dolphins, but recently since moving to acrylic and oil mediums I have begun exploring wildlife, and landscape scenes of the area in which I live. I am always looking for an angle of light in the work that gives it something different and I take thousands of photos to get inspiration of shadow and light on images and land or seascapes, using a Nikon D100 digital which allows for this indulgence !
I am fascinated by light and am always trying to capture something special on the canvass about light and how it illuminates a moment instead of just painting a scene. My work is hugely influenced by nature in its entirety but largely the ocean and I have recently begun to experiment with a more abstract texture of the microcosm of nature and these new abstract works are now the main feature of my gallery and thru related outlets .
