About "Little Raska"
This portrait is part of a series of images based loosely on people I know or have seen. The title, Little Raska is taken from a pun on the Russian origin of the subject of the work. I enjoyed the patterning of the dress, the hair and the slightly demented look that the eyes and teeth lend to the character. Generally, I enjoy exploring the fleeting oddities of the human face and this is a nice example.
