About "Marine Parade"
A combo of various illustrations and photographs that reflects the childhood memories at Marine Parade as well as my yearning I had as a young boy to become a marine biologist. Now as an experienced diver - this aquatic view reminds me of the almost silent underwater experience of peace and tranquility one become part of when you sit at 25m and listen to the sounds of the ocean.
Born in May 1965 in Springs, Gauteng but spent most of my childhood in the savanna countryside of Phalaborwa, Limpopo (previously Transvaal). Living so close to nature in the African bush as a youngster left deep imprints as I still kindle the creative connections to the natural colours, forms and textures that bubbles from inside. Involved in the design and advertising industry for decades certainly influenced the thought process as even when it comes to fine art, I like to have a clear plan of action when starting a work of art.
1999 Waterkloof Pretoria
1983 Matric - Die Kruin, Skool vir Kuns, Musiek en Ballet (NSA)
