About Marie
Hi, I am Marie,
Thanks for taking the time to look at my work.
Now let me tell you a little about myself. My Grand Dad and 2 of his sisters were artist. So, as you can see, it runs in the families. I were always fascinated as [0x1]n child at the pictures that he made and that is were my interest in art began. All threw my school years I love drawing and fiddling with paint. Later on I went to Technicon and majored in pottery.
It was only later when I stated an art class to stay in touch with other artist that I discovered the real joy of painting in oil and acrylics. From there on I was hooked. Threw the years I sold some of my art to friends and my familie and friends of them. As I got more skilled in the medium, I got more daring in my chose of subject, and there is always a new challenge.
My subjects range from stile life, abstract, landscaping, figures and portraits. Actually, any subject that takes my fancy. I love to paint in oils, but acrylics have its own charm. Charcoal and pencil is such lovely mediums, and quite underrated, so I must confess that I love to draw in these 2 mediums. Now a then I also like to do a bit of sculpture and pottery.
When I am not painting, I am farming and enjoy both immensely. Farming brings me closer to nature and my art give me the satisfaction to put down what I see and experience in a langue[0x1]s that I enjoy, painting.
