About "Nude with Raised Arm"

A nude concept study in oil, pencil & charcoal mixed in with poppy seed oil. This is one of the artist's rare nude figure studies in mixed media on canvas. The unfinished state is deliberate and he has extended his liberties with a free approach to line and form.
The brushwork is coarse in the main and showing only restraint in the execution of the hands and face.

About Casey

Born in March 1970, the artistic career of Casey started at a young age under the shadow of his great grandfather Tinus de Jongh, and it was only natural that he would be influenced by his Dutch heritage.
Being fully self-taught, his artistic inspiration is drawn from the rugged beauty that South Africa offers and from personal life experiences. He continues to pursue his own experimental and expressive interests in various media and subject matter beyond his main focus areas too.
