About Kala

Kala is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

My name is Karin Combrink, I paint under my nickname, Kala. I was born in Namibia and attended school in Bloemfontein. I took porcelain painting classes with Heleen van Assen for 10 years. Since moving to George in 2008, I turned to oil painting and was tutored by Martie le Roux and attended a painting holiday at Dale Elliot’s studio in Villiersdorp. As a member of the George Art Club, I exhibit regularly with other local artists. Everyday life inspires me, I mainly paint portraits and street scenes.
