About Leonora

Leonora is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

I am a versatile artists enjoying various mediums and subject matter. I try to capture whatever inspires me at the moment - If I visit the bush or see a beautiful wild animal, I am inspired to capture the expression and mood of the creature, if I'm in a beautiful or exciting place, I love to capture the colours and excitement of the moment. Children at play, a lovely or interesting face, a beautiful sunset or the continuous movement of the waves of the ocean are all inspiring subjects. I also enjoy some abstract work, creating a pleasing composition, with interesting shapes, colours etc. I just enjoy painting and drawing!!

I also teach art at Norscot manor Recreation Centre and at the Art Place in Northcliff. Three of my students have been accepted to exhibit at Artists under the Sun, two have achieved New Signature Status with the WSA, and several have sold paintings.

I served on the National Executive Committee of the WSSA for 4 years and was Vice Chariman for 2 years. I've also served on the committee of A.U.S. for 2 years and am at present Chairman.

I am also a member of the Miniature Art Society of S.A. ( MASSA)and have sold miniatures at various exhibitions in the USA. I had one miniature on the World exhibition of miniatures in Burnie Tasmania in 2008 and have one this year ( 2012) in Moscow Russia.

I have works in corporate and private collections around South Africa as well as the USA, UK, Scotland, Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, Jordan, Japan, China and Malasia.
