Ludwig Theodore is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

What inspires me is the richness of South African Cultures and that a picture can break through any language-, racial- and culture barrier. A Picture says a thousand words, it creates a feeling, a good feeling and the viewer finds inspiration.
My work stretches through different mediums and different styles, my favorite is realism and impressionism, in Oils and Acrylic paint as well as Pencil and charcoals, now and again I surprise myself and lovers of my work with other mediums as well.
Painting takes you out of this world filled with negativity and stress; it becomes a drug that makes you happy, so get your fix. In my personal view this world of art has no rules except planning and composition; hence I like a limited amount of abstract work.
I have been painting my whole life and I am self taught, in 1985 my first master piece was when I was listening to stories on the tape deck while my mother cleaned the house, my crayons made depictions of these stories all along the passage wall, my butt hurt after that, but mother was always supportive of my art.
I can paint anything, any size any project any medium, I love any challenge that I was commissioned for, I am a big critique and love giving advise to other aspiring artists.

Exhibitions

Bi-annually I hold my own exhibitions for myself and my students in Alberton, I invite investors and galleries and this improves the product by receiving critique and also sourcing what the market wants from artists.
