Elmarie Pretorius

About Elmarie

Elmarie is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

My work draws from an intense interest in the play between photographic and painterly media, as well as contemporary interest in the philosophy around the animal and art. I tend to focus specifically on companion animals but I am also interested in current re-workings of traditional concepts surrounding landscapes. I work with my own photographs and found images which I rework in miniature before printing it on a large scale. I often rework the final surface as well.
