About Betsie

Betsie Roetz

Betsie is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

I was born in Windhoek in 1957, grew up in Pretoria, and started my career in the South African Library in London. I took up art as a subject in school and art history at Pretoria University.
I joined a short, 2 week course of art expression and techniques at the Pretoria Technikon.
I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember but only started painting as a hobby in recent years while living on a farm near George. Here I attended some informal art classes by various teachers.
I’ve never sold my paintings but they have become the expected gifts from our friends and charity groups.
