About "Sunlight on Mica, Richtersveld"

Sunlight reflects off the Mica in Richtersveld, Nambia. The landscape has a starkness- a severe beauty. It is a clean beauty, as if the hand of God has wiped all the vegetation off it with a mighty swipe in anger. No rotting vegetation, no pulpy bushes, no decay. Bone clean, punctuated only by the skeletons of trees and rusted cars. Noiseless. Free. Open. Unpolluted. Unspoilt. Uncorrupt.
There are no distractions for the soul and it can roam freely, untrammeled by business. The soul can fly there, cover ground in a heartbeat, be above and beyond the dirty world.

About Viv

Nature is my inspiration. I respond to the landscape of the Western Cape, the mountains of the Western Cape, the Karoo,the Eastern Cape and the Overberg.I love trees, especially those of the Western Cape.The deserts and landscape of Namibia is also an inspiration.
