Reference PoD001 About "The Thing is Not Too Blame" This work serves as a bridge between the Object Trouve range I completed in 2014, and functions as an introduction to my current series of works entitled Poetry of Decay - An exploration of the Dystopian Aesthetic. The work employs irony and humour to play on the current socio-political climate in South Africa - with the "Black Sheep" - archetype known as "Thing" introduced in the Object Trouve range running away from the devastation it left behind in the scene. Pleading "The Thing is Not Too Blame" thereby joining the zeitgeist of "passing the buck" when it comes to accountability for one's actions. |
