About "Yasmin "
The work is A1 in size with a splash of bright exciting pastel colors giving it a fresh and vibrant appearance. Placed in the middle is "Yasmin" - a ballerina.
There is a sense of stability as the ballerina is placed firmly on the floor, from there the posture completely deserts the 'planted' suggestion by strong upward vertical lines almost shaped into a "V".
It should be interpreted as an energetic fresh vibrant flow of energy that can rub off on the viewer. This is what ballet dancers often succeed to achieve with their audiences. Some distortion to this work represents room for expression and artistic adjustment - in order to capture authenticity and create someone / something new.
Yasmin is wearing a turquoise garment - a vibrant color but also a calming color associated with 'life' (green tone) and 'freshness' (blue - water) together the (blue-green tones combined). Color is an important feature in this work - therefore the mention of specific colors.
