About Audrey Barbara

The artist died in February 2012.

"There is an old artist's tale which states that each painting is so carefully created to capture a small portion of the creator's soul." Nothing could be truer when it comes to South African artist Audrey Barbara Berman. Originally from Zimbabwe, Audrey got her start in oil painting and sculpture in South Africa. Her ideas and use of unique, beautiful and vibrant colours have resulted in successful exhibitions of naive art at which paintings have been sold internationally to numerous collectors. ' - Annette Kaiser.

"Audrey Berman's individual style, a kind of sophisticated primitive, makes ordinary experiences such as 'Basket Seller' and 'Fallen Palm' and so on something unforgettable because of the pertinent, detailed observation." - Andrew Verster.
