About Mariechen

I am extremely grateful to be able to paint. My only regret is that I started late in life.
The brush and canvas gives me endless joy. The joy of creating something that is beautiful to me. And the joy when I discover that my art meant something to someone else.

Seascapes and landscapes are my favourites. The many different colours and moods of the seas, the open fields and the "sout van die aarde" fishermen and farm workers always move my soul. I hope to capture that energy.
