About Theunis

The objective of my photography is to capture images which are typically South African and which create a sense of nostalgia. The subjects range from Karoo landsapes to old transportation means. I love to make use of sepia tone as it compliments the subject and enhances the sense of nostalgia.

My most recent work is a bit of a departure from my usual style.

This range of photographs is called 'My Father's Chair".

The range is meant to portray a place of rest a place where you could see yourself spending time.

The photographs are in black and white ,the chair "My Father's Chair" is in red. This creates a strong focal point in all the images. It also adds to the almost surrealistic feel of the images.
