About "Chair Painting - Evolving"

The chair, with carved or turned elements, is a symbol of civilization. Only civilized people sit on chairs - and chairs that are crafted. Yet civilization is torn and hurt. So paper pieces have been torn out of the format and stuck back on. The chair becomes, instead of an experience of comfort, a torn and bloodied thing---the state of society. Yet only by being wounded can we wrest development out of our state.
