About "Imani"

I love painting figures and portraits. Imani modellled for this artwork. She is a beautiful Xhosa woman, and she sat absolutely still... some models fall asleep. I would work for about half an hour, and we would have a break. It was always interesting as she would comment on the painting as it progressed. The work took about two weeks to complete.

About Liane

I love standing in front of my canvas... here my oil paints blossom into figures and shapes. It's a magical experience for me as I never know how my painting will turn out in the end. I concentrate on figurative art. My last commissioned work was for SunInternational when I painted some large paintings for their VIP Lounge at Carnival City in Brakpan, South Africa.
