About "Old Bull"

A tiny pastel inspired by the minimalist pencil art movement. This truly beautiful Cape Buffalo was seen on one of my trips to the Kruger National park. It's majestic beauty inspired a colorful image in my mind which i rendered in pastels on Pastelmat paper.

About Michael

I have always seen the world by viewing the interplay of light and shadow. Monochromatic medium such as graphite gave me a direct way of representing what I observe in the world around me. Pencils enable me to capture intricate details and textures of my subjects.

Since childhood I have been fascinated by wildlife and would spend my vacation time in National parks photographing and observing wildlife and my time in school daydreaming about artistic pursuits.

Today I am inspired by the beauty of wildlife and the power of art used in conservation efforts. I let my love and knowledge for science and mathematics influence me in the creation of detailed artworks.
