Merle De Jager
The landscapes and ruins pictured here were part of a 2003 exhibition of 22 works entitled "Forgotten Places", which depicted ruins of the Klein Karoo, a large sparsely populated semi-desert area 200 kms from Cape Town, and the Overberg, the rural plains area 80 kms away. The still lifes represent recent exploration of another aspect of this theme.
1996 - Prizewinner, New Signatures Exhibitions, Cape Town, South Africa.
