There is something symbolic for the artist: a lonely light beacon beams into the vastness of the ocean, warning of the treacherous coastline ; analogous to this is the fragility and (possible?) uniqueness of life on Earth - a solitary beacon trying to make contact ?

About Casey

Born in March 1970, the artistic career of Casey started at a young age under the shadow of his great grandfather Tinus de Jongh, and it was only natural that he would be influenced by his Dutch heritage.
Being fully self-taught, his artistic inspiration is drawn from the rugged beauty that South Africa offers and from personal life experiences. He continues to pursue his own experimental and expressive interests in various media and subject matter beyond his main focus areas too.
