About Hester

I am a cat lover and live on a cattle farm in the North Eastern Free State amongst the rolling hills of grassland.
I mostly work in oils with a pallet knife on canvas, doing mostly flower studies and landscapes.
I’ve always wanted to be an artist but this was never possible due to a very difficult early life. I’m now able to fulfil this passion due to having remarried to a wonderful husband who has encouraged me and enabled me to learn under the tutorage of Barry de Villiers.
I get my inspiration from God’s creation of the vast South African landscape. I hope that the brightness and wonder that this brings to my life is reflected in my work.
