About "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, and Reds, and Orang"

In this vibrant dance of horses, and zebras, hues and forms unfolds. With acrylics, graffiti, and oil pastels, I've captured the untamed spirit of freedom. Each stroke embodies a rebellion against convention, a wild ride through emotion and imagination. Semi-abstract shapes and symbolic elements converge, creating a visual symphony that celebrates the raw beauty of life's diversity. This painting isn't just a piece of art; it's an energetic force that can invigorate any living space with its daring soul. This is a more personal work. "I saw an image of this horse laughing on social media. It made me smile, so I painted myself as the cowgirl with the laughing horses. The zebra/quagga was a hint of my South African home." The quagga was a subspecies of the plains zebra that lived in South Africa until hunted to extinction late in the 19th century by European settler-colonists. "When I create these paintings I'm totally focused for days.

I have created several series of works, Wild Africa, Prey.Pray. Zulu Lulu, and the "EWE or sheep series."
In 2006 Ann started her Ewe series of works, which propelled her into local and global recognition.

In addition, Ann is a published writer, journalist, teacher and facilitator of Art &workshops targeting corporate, domestic and educational target markets.
