Pauletta is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

I was always facinated by my fathers talent for painting. The way he used to mix his oil paints and applying it to canvas. As a child I could never understand how it was possible to create such beautiful paintings. Only later on in my life I attempted my frist painting. What a disaster, my colours where incorrect the paint was stickey and messy, but I visualised myself being my dad. I just kept on trying.
Four years ago I had a very bad experience with a back operation that caused me to be bound to a wheelchair for a year, which resulted that I had to stop work. Being an active person my life fell to pieces by suddenly doing nothing. I started to take up painting, still not sure how and what I started attending an artworkshop, covering waterpaints and oils, but due to no income I had to stop my classes. I taught myself by asking questions and reading various art books on how to paint. With the encouragement of my husband, family and friends I started to paint. I have been fortunate in selling some of my paintings. This gave me a lot of inspiration and decided to make use of SouthAfricanartists.com
