A rose is a rose is a rose.....or is it?
In the case of Sandra Legg a rose takes on a new meaning. Her up close and personal rendition of roses show the reason why this flower is favoured above all others in history. Pink roses, red roses, monochromatic roses.... she paints them all in acrylic in a magnified manner that starts leaning towards abstraction purely because at that size the leaves start taking on individualistic forms of their own. Many artist have jumped on the financial bandwagon of producing artworks of this flower, but few have done so with as much proficiency.
