Arum lilies are a common enough subject in art, and together with roses and poppies must be about the most painted flowers. In Plum Arum Lilly, Anne does what few artists do – justice to their subject matter. The composition is traditional – a single lily placed centrally in the composition. Yet in spite of the conformist subject matter, Anne gives her lily an energy that had me stopping and retracing my steps through the web for another look. She has used oils to paint a superb representation with keen observation of detail which make this common theme rather exceptional. Worth a look!
