"Alpha Dragon"

Ceramic on driftwood A dragon balances precariously on a piece of driftwood. The dynamic between the darkness of the dragon and the lightness of the wood, gives the work an almost yin/yang feeling. A favorite subject of the artist, dragons offer, Smit the freedom to interpret them as he chooses. The wood seems to be holding the dragon up while in its ungratefulness it looks to eat the wood. It’s a theme of upliftment and destruction, which may just appeal to you.
