Gail is an acclaimed artist both locally and internationally being the first artist to explore liquid crystal as a medium in her work. This gives her paintings an intensity which responds to every subtle change of light and temperature, so that her images glow to create a unique visual drama that is the signature of her work. Common subjects include wild animals, African landscape and other more abstract offerings. In "Some Cattle on a Landscape", she creates a simple, vast yet richly textured backdrop with cattle only vaguely represented behind a shimmering sun that threatens to obliterate them altogether. The stifling destructive heat of the barren landscape is superbly captured in this work.
