"Palmyra .....Was the Desert Spouse!!"

Which my limited Italian tells me means podgy or obese lying down. A large/voluptuous woman attempts however in spite of the title the woman appears (at least to me), to raise herself on feet that are almost non-existent. Such is her weight that the mission is filled with anxiety and almost a sense of surrender to the hopelessness of the process. Yet this mother earth has a strange beauty about her. The veins of the marble become the veins of her own form and with her weight she indeed is completely bound to the maternal earth. Beauty is not forgotten in the bracelets that adorn her arm.
