About Casey

Casey is an Artist with SouthAfricanArtists.com based in South Africa.

Casey van der Leek is a totally self taught South African artist and he showed a precocious talent for drawing from an early age.

With degrees in civil and electronic engineering, Casey is a full time artist now and being the great grandson of Tinus de Jongh it was only only natural that his early works would follow along similar lines. He is slowly developing his own style and emotive and abstract concepts are finding there way in to some of his more experimental and non commercial works. He works in various media , from oil & watercolour paintings to pencil,chalk, pastel and gouche more recently and some mixed media. He has a partiality towards seascapes and lately figure studies, although he is still primarily a landscape artist. He has toured Botswana, Victoria Falls and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and of course thoughout South Africa. He has works in private collections in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Monaco and New Zealand and throughout South Africa.
